100mm RWA45

Rockwool RWA45 100mm – an insulation material made from rock mineral wool. Rock mineral wool, known as stone wool has been made from raw materials including stone and glass. These materials are heated until they melt and then spun to form a wool like fibre. Furthermore, the manufacturing process of Rockwool RWA45 is sustainable and uses organic materials. As well as the 100mm, the RWA45 range is from 25mm to 120mm. Our other most popular sizes are 25mm RWA45, 50mm RWA45 or 75mm RWA45

Rockwool Insulation 100mm RWA45 has three main properties – Thermal, fire, and acoustic. See below.

Thermal – RWA45 has a thermal conductivity of just 0.035W/mK. Thermal conductivity means less heat will pass through the insulation slabs, keeping internal temperatures level. The thermal properties of the RWA45 100mm will also prevent heat / energy escaping the building and save money on energy bills. Less energy escaping will also create a more energy efficient property.

Fire – Rockwool is non-combustible and give no contribution to the spread of fire. The RWA45 slab will not ignite due to flame exposure. RWA45 has a melting point of over 1000 ºc. The 100mm rockwool gives more time for people to leave the building and prevent damage to the building structure.

Acoustic – 100mm RWA45 Rockwool Slab insulation has acoustic qualities that work by absorbing sound waves. The absorption of sounds waves prevents sound travelling throughout the building. RWA45 dampens vibrations creating a more comfortable environment overall.

RWA45 Rockwool 100mm is the most used thickness when it comes to insulation materials, and it is easy to handle and install. The most common cavity size is 90mm to 100mm. Moreso, the RWA45 100mm is a great option should you need to double up on insulation to achieve an unusual thickness.

Key Features Of 100mm Rockwool RWA45

  • Lightweight and easy to cut, handle, and install
  • Best possible fire performance
  • Great thermal qualities
  • More temperature controlled internal climate
  • Less noise from neighbouring rooms and properties
  • Long lasting lifespan
  • Durable and reliable
  • Water repellent
  • Low density
  • free from harmful gases (CFC and HCFC)
  • They do not add to the formation of any gases with Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) or Global Warming Potential (GWP)

Rockwool 100mm

100mm RWA45 Rockwool Slab Insulation is 1200mm x 600mm with a density of 45kg/m3. Rockwool RWA45 gets its name from Rockwool Acoustic and the density of the product. The lower the density the better thermal quality.

100mm Rockwool RWA45 Application

RWA45 100mm slabs are rock mineral wool formed into rectangular shape designed for easy installation within the buildings thermal envelope including walls, floors, roofs, and ceilings. The 100mm RWA45 shape and size means there is little cutting required and 100mm thickness is standard size slab that can be install in most applications.
Rockwool Insulation 100mm RWA45 Slabs are an all-round performer and manufactured for a range of general building projects and specialist applications. The multi-purpose slabs are designed for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. RWA45 100mm can also be fitted with other insulation materials. The material can be doubled in order to achieve an unusual thicknesses. In addition, RWA45 can help to meet building regulations. See all applications methods listed below.

  • Ceilings – Suspended ceiling
  • Walls – Steel frame systems
  • Walls – Timber frame systems
  • Roofs – Pitched roofs between rafters
  • Roofs – Flat roofs
  • Ground floors
  • Separating floors
  • Intermediate floors

The acoustic slabs are extremely durable and last lasting. The 100mm RWA45 will last for as long as the building does, and product performance will not reduce over time. The RWA45 100mm is a well-used product within the construction industry. Unlike PIR Insulation boards, RWA45 is smaller and size with little need to cut the product and the slab are flexible. The flexible slabs are easy to manipulate into most cavity spaces. RWA45 also comes in tightly compressed packaging which is easy to manoeuvre around and store on a construction site.

How To Install RWA45 100mm Acoustic Slabs

Rockwool RWA45 can be cut using a saw or a sharp knife. These tools can sometimes leave a messy edge.
Always consult a building / construction professional before insulation your property. This can be a costly and time effective mistake. Ensure the walls are free from condensation and mould before insulating. Please note this is a guide only.
Firstly, the 100mm RWA45 slab should be consistent with the depth of the frame. Once the metal or timber frame is secure with 600mm centres, begin to fit the RWA45 slabs into the frame. Push the slabs firmly back in to the cavity careful not to flatten them. Continue to fill the space until there is little, or no spaces left.
Secondly, measure and cut the slab to size if necessary to fit into any spaces left. Cut the slabs using a sharp knife. Look out for any changes in the wall shape such as a sloped ceiling electrical sockets, and doors and openings. Cut the slabs accordingly.
Thirdly, cut the plasterboards to size and install them horizontally over the insulation materials. Fix the plasterboard onto the frame using the required fixings. Take fixtures and fitting into account when cutting plasterboard. Finally, complete by decorating the boards.
