100mm EPS70

EPS70 100mm insulation boards are perfect for use in floors, walls and roofs. They are lightweight and simple to use and handle. The ‘EPS’ in EPS70 refers to the Expanded Polystyrene that these boards are made from. Furthermore, the ’70’ in EPS70 is a reference to its compression strength, which is i70 kPa (at 10% compression).

Expanded Polystyrene is a great material as it does not attract vermin or insects. In addition to this, expanded polystyrene does not encourage the growth of mould.

100mm EPS Insulation boards boast a thermal conductivity of 0.038 W/mK. They have a total coverage of 2.88m2 and are 2400mm x 1200mm in dimensions.

EPS is naturally hydrophobic. This means it has a high resistance to water and therefore only allows minimal water transfer.

100mm EPS Insulation Boards may also be referred to as ‘foam insulation boards’. They are available in a variety of thicknesses to suit the requirements of your project.

EPS70 100mm Applications

100mm EPS70 Insulation Boards can be used in floors, walls and roofs. It is common to see EPS Insulation used in both commercial and residential settings to satisfy building regulations.

One of the most common uses of 100mm EPS Insulation Boards are below concrete slabs with concrete poured on top. In addition to this, 100mm EPS 70 boards feature high compression strength, which makes them great for load bearing applications. This is why you tend to see them used mostly as floor insulation. EPS works great in flooring applications as it can help to minimise the heat lost through flooring.

When it comes to cutting Expanded Polystyrene boards, you can use tools such as a fine tooth saw or even a hot wire cutter. EPS is designed to be easy to cut and handle and also does not cause irritation to the person cutting it.

Key Features of EPS 70

  • Completely CFC and HCFC free
  • Easy to handle and cut
  • Thermal conductivity of 0.038 W/mK
  • Simple installation – no special tools required
  • 100% recyclable
  • Resistant to corrosion
  • Efficient thermal insulation

EPS70 is made from solid beads of polystyrene. This is then expanded using stream and formed into sheets. When the beads are expanded, they fuse to form a closed cell structure, which features trapped air to give it insulation qualities. The finished product results in a sheet that has great compression strength as well as thermal properties. These sheets can be cut into different thicknesses such as this 100mm EPS board.

One major benefit to EPS insulation board is that it can be easily recycled. In addition to this, EPS70 uses recycled material to further add to the products sustainability.
