- Easy application
- Non-deleterious material
- Environmental-friendly
- Class 0 /Low-Risk fire rating
- Ideal for new build and refurbishment
- Durable and long lasting
Kingspan K107 Cavity Board has a water-tight, vapour-open phenolic core with low emissivity composite foil reverse facings bonded to the rigid core during manufacturing. K107 is a lightweight product as can provides an easy application including cutting, handling, and installing. The product is durable and reliable and when installed correctly will last for as long as the building does. The K107 board is water resistant and will prevent mould and rot developing even if there is condensation in the installation area. It also provides a level of protection against fire.
K107, can you help you make your home more energy efficient. The K107 pitched roof boards prevent heat escaping through the roof which will help tackle climate change and global warming. By preventing heating from leaving the roof / loft space you are also saving yourself money on up to 70% of monthly energy bills. Heat rises from bottom to top however the insulation installed into a pitched roof reflects the heat back down, heating the building from top to bottom.
Kingspan K107 can be installed in a range of methods. These methods include:
- Fully Filled Insulation Between Rafters – No Sarking Board
- Fully Filled Insulation Between Rafters – 18 mm Sarking Board
- Partially Filled Insulation Between Rafters – No Sarking Board
- Partially Filled Insulation Between Rafters – 18 mm Sarking Board
- Dwarf Wall – Insulation Between Studs and Inside Studs
- Loft Floor or Flat Ceiling – Insulation Between and Over Joists
- Loft Floor or Collar Tie – Insulation Between and Under Joists
- Insulation Between & Under Rafters at 400 mm Centres – With or without sarking board
- Insulation Between & Over Rafters at 600 mm Centre – With of without sarking board
- Loft Floor Insulation – Insulation Between and Over Joist
- Loft Floor Insulation – Insulation Between and Under Joists

How to install K107 between and under rafters in a pitched roof.
Before you begin:
- Consult a building material to check you have ordered the correct materials and the application that should be applied as this will depend on your property.
- Protective gear such as clothing, goggles, mask, and gloves are recommended when cutting insulation as when cut the board can product particles that are irritable.
- Ensure you have all the necessary materials such as hand saw, ruler, marker, etc.
Step 1: Make sure your board is the same thickness as the depth of the rafters. Measure the cavities in each rafter as you go along. Cut the board to size with caution as depending on the building the rafter spaces can vary in size.
Step 2: When the boards are cut to size, push the boards all the way back into each space between the rafters Making sure the boards sit flush with the rafters from top to bottom. When fitting boards next to each other, ensure they’re tightly butted together. Foil tap can be applied over the joints in the boards to avoid thermal bridging. If the boards have been fitted extremely tight against the rafters, a hand saw can be ran down either side of the board.
Step 3: Once all the boards are in the rafters, insulation boards or insulated plasterboards can then be applied horizontally over the top of the vertical insulation 19mm over each edge. The boards should be flush with the top and bottom of the space.
Step 5: When fixing the boards into place ensure the screw or choice of fixing is lined up with the board and the rafter underneath. A screwdriver should be used with the correct fixings, the fixing should be long enough to penetrate the board and the rafters. The fixings should be applied no less than 10mm from the edge of the sheet. If using insulated plasterboard a flexible sealant should be applied round the edges of the insulation as a whole in a continuous band.
